At Merriman Woods Yoga & Life Coaching, Migdalia Merriman offers yoga, meditation, life coaching, private and group classes, workshops and retreats in a unique woodland setting in Burlington, CT. The workshops and retreats are designed to promote natural health through living in harmony with nature an Ayurvedic approach.

She builds community with local instructors, doctors, energy healers, natural health practitioners, and award winning artist to bring together a unique experience to encourage inner peace, balance and harmony. Her life coaching workshops include guided meditation, controlled yogic breathing, and journaling. She has also practiced Ayurveda for the past seven years. She uses these disciplines to promote inner strength, healing, stress reduction, spiritual renewal and relaxation to create the mind, body, spiritual connection.

Merriman Woods' ongoing workshops include: Tai Chi, Traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony, Tui Na Massage, Ayurveda and Seasonal Routines, Renewing Your Spirit through in depth study of the Chakra System, and Transforming Stress.

I had always been fascinated with the idea of doing yoga but felt that it was for younger and thinner people who were in shape. It seemed like only women did yoga. In April of 2009, I got the nerve to go to my first class with Migdalia, a Gentle Restorative class. After my first class, I was hooked. Leaving class that night I felt great. The meditative, gentle stretching that I did combined with the peaceful nature of the class was certainly restorative. I didn't feel out of place being a man and Migdalia custom tailored many of the postures for me. It's been a year now, and I continue to love yoga and feel very comfortable attending mix level classes as well. After each class, I feel peaceful, energized and completely relaxed. Taking the first step of conquering my fears, misconceptions and discovering the true benefits of practicing yoga was the best thing I have ever done!
